This is my story; a crypto NFT artist from Africa specialising in expressing crypto culture.
It Started Here
My artistic background begins with my grandfather who was a self-taught professional musician and poet. His artistic talent was passed on to some of his children, and grandchildren. Some of my children have “got it” too. It’s a different way of seeing the world, shape and colour. Some artists are also good at mathematics, and I enjoy combining the two forms of expression, to achieve a result that satisfies the mind and the heart.
My story in crypto began in 2017 when I bought a few tokens. The euphoria of December, turned into the nightmare of early 2018. Determined to understand what was going on, I read as much as possible and decided to hodl. Glad I did. It’s been an education in patience and insight! This inspired in me the need to express my experience in art.
My Art Tells My Story
My art takes common crypto expressions such as hodl, whale, dolphin, airdrop, moon and many others, and converts them into visual ideas and interpretations of the expectations, trials and triumphs of the crypto trader. See examples of this in my themes page.
For instance, to hodl means to hold on to an investment no matter what the market conditions are at the time, believing that the market will turn in your favour in the long-term. Hence, I portray a person holding on to a steering wheel for dear life, as the vehicle careens all over the road, at the same time not taking the foot off the pedal, to ensure that you reach your destination, come what may!
